Eoin Darby Elected Fellow of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (FSCSI)
I am delighted to share that at its meeting on 19th March 2026, the Council of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland formally elected me a Fellow of the Society — the highest grade of membership the SCSI awards.
Fellowship of the SCSI (FSCSI) is not an automatic progression. It recognises surveyors who have demonstrated an exceptional level of contribution to the profession over the course of their career — through practice, professional development, and active engagement with the industry. To be elected to this grade is something I am genuinely proud of, and I am grateful to the SCSI Council for the recognition.
What Fellowship means
The SCSI is the leading professional body for property, land and construction professionals in Ireland. Chartered membership — MSCSI — is the standard qualification that demonstrates competence and professionalism in the field. Fellowship goes further. The FSCSI designation is held by a small cohort of surveyors across Ireland who have gone beyond the standard of practice expected of a Chartered member, and who have contributed meaningfully to the advancement of the profession itself.
For a sole practitioner practice like Darby & Associates, this recognition carries particular significance. We don't have the institutional weight of a large firm behind us — what we have is expertise, track record, and professional standing built over more than eighteen years of practice across Ireland, Northern Ireland and New Zealand.
A milestone year
2026 has been a significant year for Darby & Associates in a number of ways. Alongside this professional recognition, the practice has continued to expand its work in construction cost consultancy - an area that demands the highest standards of professional conduct and technical expertise. The FSCSI designation sits naturally alongside that work.
I have also recently updated my post-nominals accordingly — Eoin Darby FSCSI MRICS MCIArb — reflecting both the SCSI Fellowship and continued membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Thank you
To clients past and present — this recognition is built on the work we have done together. To colleagues and industry referrers — thank you for your continued trust and support.
